{"id":142,"date":"2025-08-25T23:52:55","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T22:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/securitywithqubits.com\/?p=142"},"modified":"2025-08-25T23:52:55","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T22:52:55","slug":"pqc-standards-and-timeframe-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/securitywithqubits.com\/?p=142","title":{"rendered":"PQC standards and timeframe &#8211; UK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although, I should know the standards and timeline by heart now, and in general, I do &#8211; but I&#8217;m always anxious I am getting a small detail wrong when talking about the PQC standards and migration timelines and thus, I will re-do the search again and again&#8230; For my peace of mind and quick access, I am writing these on my blog (including the links at the end for reference and to keep track of future changes). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PQC standards as of August 2025:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>FIPS 203 : Module Lattice Base Key Encapsulation Mechanism standard (ML-KEM) and previously known as CRYSTALS-Kyber<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FIPS\u00a0204 : Module Lattice Based Digital Signature Standard (ML-DSA) and previously known as CRYSTALS-Dilithium<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FIPS\u00a0205: Stateless Hash-based Digital Signature Standard (SLH-DSA) and previously known as SPHINCS+<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FIPS 206 : standardisation in progress of FN-DSA (previously known as FALCON)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NCSC Timeframe (UK): <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2028<\/strong> &#8211;  Discovery tasks completed on all assets and initial PQC migration roadmap created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2031 <\/strong>&#8211; Critical assets have been migrated to PQC cryptography.
